| The stage was set for bands Tuesday night at Rock To Cure |

(Oneonta, NY) - On Tuesday night The Music Industry Club was back at their usual ways as they hosted the Rock To Cure, an event in the Hunt Union Ballroom featuring musical acts such as Watermedown and Pitch Slapped in efforts to raise awareness for the Tyler Demarco Foundation.
The Tyler Demarco Foundation is a foundation based around finding a cure for brain cancer, a foundation that lies very close to SUNY Oneonta's heart. 2015 graduate Ryan Demarco is the older brother of the previously mentioned Tyler Demarco. Always being a large contributor to the music scene on campus, Demarco certainly wasn't going to miss this event.
"It's awesome man, said Demarco. I talked with Jimmy King (MIC Club talent buyer) and he proposed the idea of making the night for Tyler's foundation and I obviously thought it was a great idea. It's beyond incredible for me to be here and see this turn out for my brother. Obviously, this is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart."
"This is my fourth semester in MIC Club and it's honestly my favorite thing to do here on campus. My job is to basically find bands and talent that Oneonta students would enjoy seeing. I like to think by creating these shows I provide a fun and accepting environment for people to go and interact," said King.
"Anytime there is live music on campus you can guarantee I'm there, said Alex Kuban, also a MIC Club member. Whether its watching the music or performing it everyone always has a blast."
The MIC Club hosts events quite frequently so keep an eye out so you can join in today. The members encourage other students to come to interest meetings and say hello. Events such as Rock To Cure only scratch the surface of what makes SUNY Oneonta the great college it is.
